Can I Transfer My Domain From Godaddy To Shopify?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can transfer a domain from GoDaddy to Shopify, as long as it has been at least 60 days since you originally completed the domain registration, last transferred it from another provider, or made changes to the registrant contact information.

After you connect your domain to Shopify, log into your GoDaddy Domain Control Center.

Click the domain name you want to transfer to Shopify to access the domain settings. In the Additional Settings choose Transfer domain away from GoDaddy.

Read the transfer checklist, then choose Continue with transfer. Enter the IPS tags, if required because you’re using a .uk domain, then choose Complete Transfer.

If you have domain protection on, or you’ve had 2-step verification on your account for at least 72 hours, you must verify your identity before you can proceed with the transfer. If this isn’t the case, you can select Send Password to receive a one-time password to the listed registrant email address.

Select Click here to see Authorization Code > Copy to Clipboard to copy your authorization code. Provide that code to Shopify when required in the steps above to complete the transfer process.
